Wild West Cornwall itinerary
Itinerary
So here’s the outline itinerary for the Wild West Cornwall photography tour. Obviously, everything we do during this tour we will be very weather-dependent, something that may require flexibility and a readiness to change plan to make the best of changing conditions.
So it is difficult to make a wholly fixed itinerary, but here is an outline of what we’ll be planning for the week. Please use it as a guide rather than an absolute certainty.
What is certain is that we’ll be starting in the afternoon of 3rd November and finishing at about lunchtime on the 8th. Everything inbetween is flexible!
Sunday 3rd November 2024: Make our way to west Cornwall, and meet up at the hotel in or near Marazion (exact location to be announced shortly). Overnight accommodation in or near Marazion. Participants will have the option of travelling with me in the minibus to Cornwall, meeting up in Exeter, making it possible to leave cars at home. After arrival, we’ll have some late afternoon and evening photography around views of St Michael’s Mount.
Monday 4th November 2024: Early morning photography around views of St Michael’s Mount, followed by photography around the south coast, such as at Kynance Cove or at Porthcurno, Treen and Logan Rock. Overnight accommodation in or near Marazion.

Tuesday 5th November 2024: Morning photography on the south coast. In the afternoon we’ll move to a hotel in or near Sennen Cove. Then afternoon and evening photography at Sennen Cove and Botallack. Possible photography of kestrels and choughs at Botallack. Night sky photography, weather permitting. Overnight accommodation in or near Sennen Cove.
Wednesday 6th November 2024: Early morning photography of prehistoric remains and tin mines, followed later by the cliffs at Pendeen, Commando Ridge and Porth Nanven/Cot Valley. Overnight accommodation at or near Sennen Cove.

Thursday 7th November 2024: Morning photography around Porthcurno and Porthgwarra, followed in the afternoon by Gwennap Head and Land’s End. Overnight accommodation in or near Sennen Cove.
Friday 8th November 2024: Morning photography around Sennen Cove and Cape Cornwall. Finishing at lunchtime.
