Isles of Scilly photography tour

Dates: 27-30 Sept 2019

Sample photos from the tour. All images taken by Nigel Hicks

A tour dominated by stormy weather

To say that the Scillies 2019 tour went ahead in challenging conditions would be something of an understatement! With high winds and heavy rain throughout the weekend, many of the inter-island ferry routes and wildlife tours were cancelled, greatly limiting our options.

Despite this, we did have a few hours of sunshine every day except the final one, and we were able to take advantage of each of these sunny bursts to photograph extensively on Tresco and St Mary’s.

It’s quite likely that the photos you see here will suggest the weather was rather lovely. What they actually illustrate is just how much you can achieve despite some challenging conditions!

Naturally, I hope you like this set of photos. Click on any image to see an enlargement and to launch a slide show.
