Nigel Hicks has almost 20 years' experience as a professional photographer working in both the UK and all over the world. He is an Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP), one of Britain's most prestigious professional photographic bodies.

Whether on a commissioned photo shoot or undertaking his own personal photography, Nigel always aims for the highest possible quality, striving to generate images that are not just a record of a place or event, but which also capture its beauty and mood.

Nigel's first love in photography, he is one of Britain's leading landscape photographers, shooting not just the beauty of Britain's landscapes, but also environments as diverse as China's deserts, Kenya's savannah, and Patagonia's glaciers, generally for editorial projects. Often included as part of a travel shoot, Nigel is frequently asked to photograph some of the world's most wonderful - and often endangered - wildlife, ranging from puffins in Iceland to elephants in Africa or guanaco in South America. To view portfolios click here.

An important part of much of Nigel's commercial photography, Nigel frequently photographs hotels, restaurants, offices and homes - modern and traditional - for a range of travel and property clients. As a development of his landscape photography, Nigel has begun producing greetings cards and high quality fine art photographic prints. The former cover some of the stunning views of England's southwest - Nigel's home area. Nigel is keen to pass on his photographic skills to other photographers, and to this end runs regular courses, concentrating mainly on landscape photography. These are held over weekends in Devon, southwest England, usually in spring and autumn.
