The 2017 programme of my one-day photography workshops has been published! Oct 2016.

We’ve finished putting together my programme of one-day photography courses for 2017, and these are now all bookable on-line on this website.

I’ll be running 11 courses throughout the spring and autumn of 2017, including the ever-popular Exmoor and Dartmoor courses, plus the now regular Architectural and Travel photography workshop in Exeter (22 April) and the Garden and Garden Flower workshop (24 June). New for this year is a coastal landscapes workshop to be held on the Jurassic Coast, around Lyme Regis and Charmouth, in Dorset (7 October).

The price for 2017 will be £90 per course place, but this will be discounted to £85 for bookings received and paid for before 31 Dec 2016. So, to save money get onto the courses pages and get booking now!

Iceland photography tour 2016 finished! Sept 2016

Our 2016 Iceland photography tour was held during the first half of September, travelling along the country’s south coast and visiting a host of waterfalls, glaciers, mountains, lava fields and rivers.

This year’s group was quite small, but we all bonded well and had a good time. There was plenty of photography for everyone, despite the rather mixed weather, and fully loaded memory cards were taken home at the end of the week’s trip.

I’ve put some of my images from the trip up on this site. To see them click here…>

Plans for the 2017 Iceland photography tour are almost complete, so we’ll be releasing news of that to the world shortly!

Nigel Hicks Photography News 2017 and 2016

Wild Southwest published! Oct 2016.

My latest book, Wild Southwest, is finally published! Written by myself and illustrated with my own photography (with some underwater contributions from Paul Naylor and Colin Munro), this book showcases much of the rich wildlife and the most beautiful landscapes southwest England has to offer.

This is my 16th book, but the first to have been published by my own publishing company, Aquaterra Publishing, moving up in the world from calendars and greetings cards, which it has concentrated on up until now!

The book will be appearing in all good bookshops over the coming weeks, both online and high street. You can already buy it online here.

New series of prints launched. Oct 2016.

To coincide with the publication of Wild Southwest, I’ve produced a whole new set of high quality signed prints, many of which reflect the content of the book.

Consisting of three series; Southwest Landscapes, Wildlife and Global Landscapes, all the prints are available in three sizes, providing a great choice of gifts to suit many budgets.

Ladakh and Iceland photography tours for 2017. Oct 2016.

We’ve at last finished putting together the details for our 2017 photography tours, and we’re pleased to say that we’ll be running two tours, heading for Ladakh (the Tibetan region of India’s far north) in July, and then touring the west coast of Iceland in September. Both represent fantastic opportunities for photography in some stunning landscapes, the Icelandic tour shooting in the country’s now well-known volcanic and glacial scenery, the visit to Ladakh a wonderful Himalayan adventure, travelling through both magnificent mountain landscapes and a Tibetan cultural environment.
