Course location: Starting at Porlock Weir and then moving to Lynmouth, and ending the day at Lynton’s Valley of the Rocks.
Times: 2pm to sunset (approx 9pm)
Price: £95 per person
This is a coastal, moorland and woodland landscape photography workshop in an area where beautiful Exmoor meets the sea. We’ll start the day photographing the shore and harbour at Porlock Weir, near the town of Porlock. We’ll then travel west along the coast road, stopping at a couple of places along the way. We’ll have lunch in Lynmouth, and will then move to the lovely wooded valley of Watersmeet, where we’ll photograph the woodlands and the River Lyn flowing through them. In the evening we’ll head to the scenic Valley of Rocks for its stunning cliff and sunset views.
The course will aim to teach the following skills:
Participants should have at least an understanding of what shutter speed and lens aperture mean, plus a knowledge of how to operate their own camera in order to get at least basic images. Beyond this, the main requirements are enthusiasm, an open mind and a readiness to learn!
Note: Since we’ll be working outdoors, what we are able to do during the day is very weather-dependent. Weather conditions may make it necessary to vary the itinerary.
