Nigel Hicks Images: Photography Courses
Photographic courses by Nigel Hicks Images both in the UK and overseas.
Calm conditions for the autumn course.
The autumn 2007 course was another full house, with the maximum 12 participants coming to Devon from all over the country. Weather conditions were generally calm and the forests' autumn colours were right at their peak. Although there were plenty of grey skies, they had a refreshing habit of suddenly breaking up to reveal vast expanses of blue just as we were starting to wonder if there might be any good light. Dawn on the first morning was an extremely grey occasion, but this enabled everyone to practise photography of water swirling around shoreline rocks, long exposure times reducing the water to a thin mist. The second morning's dawn was also rather grey, except for a sliver of clear sky to the east that allowed for a superb sunrise and some great photography of the estuary of the River Teign. Inbetween, everyone had the opportunity to photograph a number of woodland, waterfall, moorland and valley views, all in a mixture of sunshine and dull conditions, the stunning autumn colours giving some great scenes and photo opportunities. The next course will be run over the weekend of 9-11th May 2008. We're taking bookings already, so if you're interested, click the link below for details.
