A day of varied photo subjects, ranging from the boats and harbour at Brixham to the clifftop views and wild flowers of nearby Berry Head, or the gardens of Cockington Court. This course will give some general photography tuition, aimed largely at those struggling to get to grips with their digital cameras (DSLR or compact) and/or wanting to understand some of the most fundamental photography techniques.
We will spend the morning photographing the many and varied scenes in and around Brixham harbour, using the wide views, boats and close details as our photo subjects. In the afternoon we will move to either Berry Head or Cockington Court Garden (in Torquay), where we’ll apply similar photography techniques to plants and either coastal views or the gardens.
The course will aim to teach the following skills:
Participants should have at least a knowledge of how to operate their own camera in order to get simple images. Beyond this, the main requirements are enthusiasm, an open mind and a readiness to learn!
Note: Since we’ll be working outdoors, what we are able to do during the day is very weather-dependent. Weather conditions may make it necessary to vary the itinerary.
