Course location: At a large, private garden conveniently located just south of Exeter, south Devon.
Times: 10am to 5pm
Price: £90 per person.
It’s early summer and southwest England’s gardens are in full bloom, so it’s a perfect time for some garden photography. Using a wonderful garden conveniently located just south of Exeter, south Devon, in this course we’ll be learning how to photograph wide garden views and details, as well as flower and plant close-ups/macro shots. With a host of shrubs and a beautifully laid-out walled garden, this garden contains an almost endless variety of potential compositions that are ideal for this course.
The course will aim to teach the following skills:
Participants should have an understanding of what shutter speed and lens aperture mean, plus a knowledge of how to operate their own camera in order to get at least basic images. Participants using a DSLR camera should also have at least basic close-up/macro equipment (not needed for anyone using a compact camera) and a tripod.
Beyond this, the main requirements are enthusiasm, an open mind and a readiness to learn!
Note: Since we’ll be working outdoors, what we are able to do during the day is very weather-dependent. Weather conditions may make it necessary to vary the itinerary.
